Some EPUB problems should not be fixed automatically.
EPUB Fixer only handles structure problems that can be checked safely. If the next step needs editing, design, layout, DRM access, or missing source files, the report stops instead of changing the book.
Files to skip
- DOCX, PDF, KPF, KCB, ZIP archives, or Kindle Previewer logs instead of an .epub file
- fixed-layout EPUB, comics, manga, picture books, and image-first books
- DRM-protected, encrypted, multimedia, JavaScript-heavy, or complex interactive EPUB files
- books that require OCR cleanup, source image replacement, or a full re-export from the design tool
Problems that need a person
- cover design, typography, visual styling, page layout, or book formatting quality
- rewriting chapter text, choosing chapter meaning, renaming sections, or deciding reading order
- KDP account, tax, payment, review, listing, category, or pricing problems
- missing source files where the EPUB package does not contain a safe replacement target
